[edit] General Information

Dvergheim is the homeland of the Dwarves. The battle hearty dwarven legions are known for their amazing endurance. A belief in their strength, skill, and bravery drives each individual Dwarf throughout all stages of battle.

The Dwarves are children of the mountains. The race believes they are directed toward a path to perfection laid out by their legendary founder. It is said that the Dwarves have followed a book containing preparation for a special task for the last 20,000 years. This special task was assigned by Ymir to the Dwarves. The race is now in the final stages of preparation for this mysterious task.

Dwarves follow the teachings of the mastersmith who once developed many Dvergheim wonders. This mastersmith named Ymir was the founder of the Dwarve nation. A detailed plan for 20,000 years of the Dwarf race was devised by Ymir in his final days. The contents of this book are meant to be used as a guide. The teachings describe many ways a Dwarve should live, how to create and practice, and how tasks should be approached for a successful completion.

Ymir strove to direct the Dwarves and form a perfect race with the perfect environment. As the book of Ymir has almost been completed by the Dwarf nation, it is now time to discover the task they have been preparing for.

Although this is a critical time for the Dwarves, a new king has risen. This king is said to question the following and faith in the writings of Ymir.

[edit] Enemies

[edit] Svartdvergir

Dvergheim's remote valleys are home to the svartdvergir, a group of dwarves who strayed from Ymir's Path and fell under the influence of a malevolent deity. Marrow-wrung and horribly changed by their sinister master, the svartdvergir are a threat to all who travel in Dvergheim's peripheries.

[edit] Groups

[edit] Mithril Forge

This mastersmith group of Mithril forge was once the power behind the Dvergheim throne. With the new king ruling focus has shifted toward bureaucratic improvement and engineering. The Mithril Forge has become deeply bitter that power is now being deferred away from their group.

[edit] Voice of Ymir

As a bureaucracy established to interpret the teachings of Ymir correctly, the Voice of Ymir ensures that all Dwarves follow the path correctly. The Voice is has now been hijacked by King Sigurd. The although the King does not care for the teachings of Ymir, he is able to use the engineers of the bureaucracy for many of his own goals.

[edit] Order of the Axe

The Order of the Axe ensures that no one is hindering the progress of the Dwarf race. While the order is not entirely official, they often deal with rogue Dwarves and complete missions behind the enemies lines.

[edit] Five Beards Trading Company

This company is the oldest and most successful merchant house. Traders and caravans are sent throughout all of Agon from the Five Beards Trading Company. For many years this trading company has progressed easily with little competition. They have now found themselves desperately seeking for new markets as the King has ensured they no longer have a monopoly on trade.

[edit] Details

This high endurance race not only excels in battle but is also gifted when it comes to forgecraft. Many of Agon's finest weaponry is produced by the Dwarves. A runebound weapon formed from ever molten lave called the Ildhammer is a Dwarve specialty that no other race is capable of crafting.

Dwarves ride the large and strong Garmir. Although similar in many ways, the mountain Garmir is much bigger than an oxen. The Garmir use their weight in battle, rearing up and then crashing down upon the enemy. To further utilize these attacks the Dwarves fix iron plates to the head of the Garmir.

Dwarves are fairly friendly, though they still tend to isolate themselves. Dwarves respect human innovations. Dwarves will sometimes form clans with humans or with the Mirdain.
