Patch Notes describes what updates have been made to the game. On this page you will find which bugs and updates the developers have made to the game. For now all patch notes that are know will be on this page.

A new patch has been released.
Fixes and updates in this patch includes:
- Mount bug where mount would become unusable has been fixed
- Gravestones that end up in the water will now go to the surface, so you can loot all your kills
- Timer for when you can tap out of gank mode has been increased from 7 to 30 seconds.
- Creative log-out-to-avoid-being-looted exploits have been fixed
- All new mounts will now have 50% more health
- Character Creator now works properly in 800x600
- All creative sprint exploits have been fixed
- /ignore now works for all chat
- Some bug fixes and improvements to the enchantment system
- Marker options buttons enabled on World and Minimap
- Improvements to the chat system
- Options button for every chat window added
- Options button for every chat tab added
- You can rename a chat window with /chat_rename_window
- Some rare client crashes have been fixed
- Magnitude functions for melee, ranged and magic has been updated to correct modifiers due to rank/skill level
- Base damage from special melee attacks now use the basic attack skill level when calculating damage. Additional damage will use the main skill level.
- Surging bonus for skill level 100 archery has been added
- Crafting has now a max success probability of 99%
- Slight increase in spell casting success
- Transmutation recipes for the most advanced magic staffs have been enabled

- Chat system is being fixed and enhanced.
- You can drag tabs out of the window and they will form new windows

- All problems relating to focus on the chat window has been resolved
- Closed windows stay closed until you use the main menu chat button to bring up all the chat windows. (If there is a specific chat tab that you don't want to see, then drag it to *a new window and close it).
- You will be given all the tools necessary to configure the chat system to your exact liking in a later patch.

- Invisibility problem has been fixed. If you should experience this ever again, please notify us immediately.
- Minimap images and resolution have been updated.
- Darkfall help screen on startup has been introduced
- Missing magic staff unsheathe animation has been enabled
- Some bugs in the crafting system has been fixed. (Some stats on player crafted gear was missing or not being influenced by the crafting).
- Misc. GUI problem fixes
- Cost and ingredient requirements for alchemy potions have been reduced
- Success probability for alchemy potions have been slightly increased.

A new patch has been released.
- Fixes and updates in this patch includes:
- Double protection from armor has been fixed
- Bug with max power level on spells have been fixed *1)
- Bug with not being able to open clan vault has been fixed; IF you should experience this bug again try to move closer to the bank and open it again. If that doesn't help, save your *logs and send us a bugreport.
- Sync issues have been addressed for the remaining few. IF you should experience sync issues (other reporting yourself teleporting around their screen), please exit the game and send *us a bug report.
- Updates to sounds and how they are handled. (Note that our final sound mix have not yet been placed on the live servers and that is why the volume difference between sounds are not *correct).
- Players being invisible have been resolved.
- Players appearing purple have been resolved.
- Bug where harvesting from empty clan city quarries stopped the players from being able to harvest anymore has been fixed.
- The bug where the roster would not show the correct online status of clan members has been fixed
- Clan Farms have been updated to give out correct resources and correct amount
- Clan Groves have been updated to give out correct resources and correct amount
- Clan Quarries have been updated to give out correct resources and correct amount
- Clan mines (all versions of them) have been updated to give out correct resources and correct amount
- Higher level cooking recipes have been tweaked to have a slightly better chance of success
- All magic staffs have had their stats enabled:
- Some staffs will have better performance on a specific magic school
- Some staffs will reduce overall casting time
- Some staffs will increase overall casting time, but yield greater results
- Some monster loot have been tweaked
- A.I. have been tweaked
- Some updates to the world (World building)
1) Notes on the power levels of spells: When a spell reaches 100 in skill level, you will have 1 shot that yields a tremendous amount of damage/healing/etc. When you fire this 1 shot, it drops down again and you can skill it back up to the power shot. You can save up these power shots to use them all against your worst enemies if you like.
Notes on magic staffs and crafting: ALL the best staffs will only be craftable by players. You will not be able to buy it from vendors. Right now we have enabled some of them on vendors, but this is for testing purposes only. They will be removed shortly. The same goes for almost all the gear in Darkfall.

They've mainly been working on balancing magic over the last few patches.
119:
A new patch has been released.
- Fixes and updates in this patch includes:
- The bug that would freeze the GUI have been fixed
- Bug where text on the HUD would be clipped (like player names) after a resolution change has been fixed
- The bug where the chat box would get focus after pressing a hotkey for a window (e.g. the map) has been fixed
- Fix for a bug where you would get extra speed if you swam along the bottom
- Swim skill will now skill up again.
- Some bugged quests have been fixed
- Bug where you would lose footstep sounds after a respawn has been fixed
- Timed quests will now display their countdown timer
- Small graphics update to crafting window
- Sync issues have been worked through and fixed. The problem of players jumping around on your screen should be severely reduced. We need your help to verify this.
- More fixes has been done to the Clan and Journal window. If you still can't see them, please send us a bugreport with logs. (Also give it some time, since we are running in debug *mode).
- Holes and inconsistencies in the world have been fixed
- Monster spawn rate has been increased and number of monsters in spawns has been increased.
- A.I. has been tweaked
- Changes to the chat system:
- /tell has been enabled as an alias for /msg
- /clan has been enabled as an alias for /say_clan
- /officers has been enabled as an alias for /say_clan_officers
- /party has been enabled as an alias for /say_party
- Global chat has been disabled for players
- /race has been enabled. This will send a chat message to all members of your race
- /alliance has been enabled. This will send a chat message to all members of your racial alliance. (e.g. a human using it will send a message to Humans, Dwarves and Mirdains. An Ork *using it will send a message to Orks and Mahirims. )
- /calliance has been enabled. This will send a chat message to all Clans where both your clan and the other clan has declared each other as Allies.

A new patch has been released.
Fixes and updates in this patch includes:
- An exploit where a player could sprint for a very long time has been fixed
- Gold requirement for crafting Repair Shards has been removed
- All monsters was dumbed down as a test in the last patch. This has been reversed.
- Many monsters will now respawn faster.
- Some of the lag problems that some players experienced have been fixed
- Some rare client crashes have been fixed.
- Several world building updates
- More monster loot has been added.

A new patch has been released.
This is mainly a build to fix some harvesting issues that was introduced in build 115.
In addition this has been fixed:
- Number of reagents for casting Eldritch Sphere in Lesser Magic has been reduced
- Spell Description for Lay On Hands has been updated.
- Heavy duty logging has been reduced more to prevent FPS drop.

A new patch has been released. This is mainly to address some server issues, but a couple of other things managed to get in.
Fixes and updates in this patch includes:
- Lay On Hands in Lesser Magic has been fixed so you can't parry it.
- Lightning Bolt in Air Magic has been tweaked
- Run skill has been fixed so it skills up much faster
- You can now skill up in crouch, so that you can sneak up on your enemies at a faster pace.
- Block/Parry will now skill up a bit faster
- If there are any errors when starting the game, they should all be reported back to you.
- The problem some testers experienced with stuttering should now be much better. (We are doing some heavy duty logging on the client to catch the last few remaining client side bugs)
- A transparency slider has been added to all GUI windows, so that you can choose transparency level of each individual window.
- Updates to the world
Please note: We have increased the hitpoints of all Clan Structures, so for the people who have built Clan Cities this will make them appear damaged.

- Fixed a case where you could not use your hood with your robe
- Run skill will now make you run faster
- Run speed has been tweaked (You now run a little faster as default)
- Sprint has been tweaked (You now sprint a bit slower)
- Guard Towers in Racial cities now dish out more damage
- Dwarven Guard Tower will now attack at the correct rate
- Loudness of Guard Tower sounds have been diminished
- Bug where first person hands would show when you were in gank mode has been fixed
- Bugfixes to sounds
- Swimming sounds will now follow you and not stay in place where you started swimming
- Some memory leaks on the client has been fixed
- You will be informed immediately if you have a computer that can not run Darkfall.
- Alt-F4 (quitting) in combat and instantly log out has been fixed. Your body will now remain for some time in the world, so people have the chance to kill and loot you.
- A player will now respawn with only a fraction of his health after death.
- Alignment bug where your alignment would be wrong when you logged back in the game has been fixed
- Stamina drain now works properly for all harvesting skills
- Bug where failing to cast magic would give you XP has been fixed
- Starter weapon stats bug has been fixed. (Some starter weapons had better stats than a crafted weapon).
- Monsters spawning in the air and staying there has been fixed
- Monsters will not attack a person who is in gank mode (incapacitated)
- Some monsters will only come out depending on what time of day it is (e.g. Vampire like creatures only come out at night)
- Monster A.I. has been tweaked
- More monsters have been added
- Monster loot have been updated
- A bug where splitting items of low value would sell for more than if you sold a stack of them has been fixed. (Vendors will only buy some items in stacks.)
- The chance of ending up in gank mode after a killing blow has been increased.
- Gold requirements for low level Alchemy have been removed
- Gold requirements for low level Armorsmithing have been removed
- Gold requirements for low level Bowyer have been removed

General information:
We are moving into the play testing phase. We do, however, still expect some system configuration to pop up. For everything that we would like your help to test, we will create a thread in the 'Testing and Feedback forum'.
We have done some changes in the server configuration to prepare for the hordes, so we might have a bit of a bumpy ride for the next few days.

New Patch
A new patch has been released. A character wipe has been performed.

Regarding patch notes:
1. If you still experience display problems or something similar with the journal or clan window, please take a screen shot and mail it to us together with the log of the client.(Shut down the client and run the Report Error tool, so we get the logs)
2. We are still logging heavily, so you might experience some stuttering from time to time
3. Regarding the Clan Boards: Everything you post there will be gone every time we wipe.
There is also a problem where the scrollbars does not show up. We are working to fix this ASAP. (The clan boards contains private messaging system, calendars to set up events and more)
4. Regarding the update of the block skill: It drains a little bit less stamina, but will induce a stamina loss on the enemy in case of a successful block.
5. All resource nodes in the world will get drained now. (This includes trees, bushes, rocks etc.) We would like your feedback on how this works out. Do you think there are too many resources available on the nodes? Too few? Too fast regrowing? Create a thread in the forum about this and tell us your thoughts about this, but bear in mind that you have to imagine that the world is filled with a lot more players.
6. Gank/Revive has been enabled. When you die now, several things might happen to you: You might be decapitated, your head might be violently crushed, you might simply die OR you might end up on the ground helpless. If the latter is the the case, then you have 3 things that might happen: You can tap out using the space bar (which will bring you back to your bind point), a friend (or enemy) can choose to revive you or an enemy (or friend) can choose to gank you (finishing move). Also note that blood effects for ganking are not complete.
7. When you log in now, you will be given 10K gold in your backpack. This is tied to your account, so creating multiple characters will not give you more. This is a test both for us and for you. Later we will start giving out more and elevate your skills/spells after wipes.
Known Issues and General Information
* If you experience any "erroneous" AI behavior, please take a screen shot of it and mail it to us with a description of the problem. * Resource output of clan city/hamlet farms, mines, wood quarries etc. have not been balanced on the server.
We don't have the capacity to report back to each individual reporting a bug, but we process each and every one of them. When we are done, a bug report hall of fame will be created and you will receive much glory :-)
Regarding the testing phases: We are slowly moving from the hardware testing phase onto the game testing phase. We are still mostly concerned about errors in the game (crash bugs and exploits), but we will start focus testing certain areas and ask for your feedback. - 1) The delays you might have been experiencing in the last builds was caused by us doing some excessive logging. This is to catch some errors that happens on only a very small subset of the testers. We are still doing a lot of logging, so please bear with us as we are doing this to find issues that we can't reproduce in-house.

* The fix for problems with bags being duplicated (albeit only graphically on the client) and bank windows opening multiple times is not included in this build. * The above problem is the same as why you sometimes can't open your bank or claun vault. * Do NOT spam the global channel. We have the logs and ofcourse account name from the last incident. Do not let that happen again. * The planned conquest mass testing is scheduled to happen sometime next week.

Known Issues and General Information
* Thanks to your reports we have found the reason for the bug that makes the client crash in some circumstances after running for a long time around the map. We are working on it and it will most likely be included in the next patch. * The problem with bags not closing and bags being duplicated in the GUI is being worked on. * If you should ever get a spinning wheel on the camera (e.g. in the Dwarven areas) please take a screenshot and mail it to us.
Clan Cities and Clan Hamlets
In this build the Clan Cities and Clan Hamlets have been enabled. Things are slowly being taken from our internal repository and deposited on the beta servers. This means that there might be a few problems in the next couple of days.
The clan cities and hamlets unlock, among other things, the following:
* Crafting of Ships * Crafting of Battlespikes * Crafting of Warhulks * Crafting of Cannons and more * Wonders for global bonuses for the owning Clan * Note that the bonuses you potentially get inside the city and for wonders don't have their correct corresponding icons yet, so if you manage to build the correct structures you will see smileys on the top of your screen for the next few days.
General hints and information about the cities:
* To build city structures, you will have to have Building Modules. These have to be crafted. * To claim a city you need a Clan Shard and have the rank of General or higher. Go within the city boundaries and double click it in your backpack. * When you first start building a city, you don't have a bank. This means that the player who chooses to build must have enough Building Modules in his inventory to build what he chooses to build. After this you can deposit building modules in the clan vault. * To build a city you must either have the rank of a General or higher OR be a Mayor of the city. * To start the building process press alternative use on the clan stone (default key is 'G') * If you build farms, mines etc. do note that the output from these are not finalized in any way on the beta servers. * If you build the city defensive structures (The huge cannon like structures) do note that the damage dealt from these have not been finalized * The local and global bonuses applied from the clan cities have not been finalized * The spawn bonuses applied from building houses etc. have not been finalized * Repair damaged structures using repair tools and repair shards * Error messages from City operations are not properly routed to the client in this build. * And more as you will eventually discover
